Veneers

Dr. DiMattia can restore damaged teeth by applying custom-made veneers.  Chipped teeth, gaps between teeth, disfigured teeth, or even stains can be made to look better.

A thin layer of dental material is made into the perfect shape for the damaged tooth and bonded directly onto the front.  The material is mixed to match the color of the other teeth, making it nearly impossible to tell that restoration has been done.

When the movie industry was starting, actors required a solution to crooked teeth.  Dentists would glue false fronts (veneers) to their teeth during the filming, but the adhesives available then were not strong enough for the veneers to remain on their teeth permanently.  Since then, advancements in dental adhesives have made it possible to provide permanent veneers for more than just actors.

Dr. DiMattia will help you decide the best type of veneer material to order by discussing what your expectations are and where the veneer is needed.

Porcelain is a common compound for veneers, providing less worry about staining and dental longevity.  Porcelain makes a more durable veneer.

Composite resin is the second compound used for veneers.  This type of veneer takes less time for application than porcelain but is more economical and easy to fix if damaged.

Both types require less enamel removal for application than some other types of tooth restoration.
